FREE transit October 4-8, 2010

Time to plan your first field trip of the year!  Translink is once again supoprting International Walk to School Week by offering free transit for elementary students and secondary students with a valid GoCard the week of October 4-8, 2010. Consider planning a field trip this week to take advantage of FREE transportation - perhaps look at a site outside your fare zone, to maximize the benefit. Help teach your students about the environmental, health and social benefits of transit ridership. Think of it as "Raising a Rider"!

During the Olympics, the Translink initiative TravelSmart to School worked with key schools to increase transit ridership and decrease road congestion during the games.  Contact the TravelSmart team to see how your school could get involved.  School and teacher interest are essential to ensuring the longevity of the program.
