This May to November, the travelling exhibit, Chinese Legacies, will be showing at the Port Moody Station Museum. The exhibit Chinese Legacies illustrates the contributions of Chinese labourers in building the Canadian Pacific Railway. It depicts Chinese workers’ life in the 1880s, the lasting impact the railway had on their lives and their impact on Canada’s national development. This interactive program Chinese Legacies includes: • a tour and scavenger hunt through the exhibit and station, • a railway artifact matching activity, • a short video presentation of Engine 371, • and an opportunity for students to try driving a railway spike.
