Description

Through artifacts, historical photos and displays, students examine community life in the past and compare it with today. Pioneer artifacts are presented for grades 2, 3, 5 and 6. First Nations artifacts are used for grade 4.

Additional Notes Presented in the classroom. Two bookings per school required. Learning Outcomes: describe how technology affects individuals and communities; identify changes in the community over time; compare ways in which needs and wants are met in communities; describe traditional technology used by pioneers or Aboriginal people. This program is offered to schools in the Lower Mainland and requires 2-4 parent helpers.
