Description
Playland presents Amusement Park Science & Physics, an enrichment experience designed to enhance your student’s knowledge and understanding, and to demonstrate how the Science & Physics they learn in the classroom applies to the world around them.
Since 1988, over 100,000 students from BC have experienced Science of Fun and Science & Physics Days at Playland. Students can learn about the acceleration on the Roller Coaster and G-force on the Hellevator. A curriculum guide is provided with grade appropriate experiments developed by Jim Wiese, author of Amusement Park Science, and hosted by Playland.

| Additional Notes | The 2011 dates for the Amusement Park Science Program are Tuesday, May 3rd (for Physics 11/12 and Biology 12 students only), Wednesday May 4th (for combined grades, i.e. Science 8, Science 10, Physics 11/12, and Biology 12 students), Thursday May 5th (for combined grades), Tuesday May 10th (for combined grades) and Thursday May 12th (for combined grades). Event is from 10am–2pm, groups are encouraged to arrive early between 9:15am and 9:45am. To register your secondary school class to attend, please contact the PNE Group Sales Department at 604-252-3663 or email us at science@pne.ca. Limited space is available for each program day so book early to ensure your spot. Deadline for Amusement Park Science & Physics Registration is April 18th, 2011. |

| Fee Notes | Teachers and chaperones receive complimentary admission. Orientation for Teachers: To help you and your students get the most out of this enrichment experience, there will be an orientation session for teachers only on Saturday April 30th, 2011. Teachers will be given the opportunity to go to Playland following the orientation to try out some of the experiments for themselves.
