The Grouse Mountain Refuge for Endangered Wildlife offers leading-edge interpretive programs that make learning about nature fun and fascinating! Students and teachers are provided with a unique opportunity to learn about British Columbia's indigenous species, experience First Nations culture and participate in an organized recreational activity. The Wildlife Education programs are grade-based and aligned with the British Columbia's Science, Social Studies, Mathematics and Physical Educations curricula. Enthusiastic educators ensure the programs are delivered at an age appropriate level. Programs can be adapted for grade levels, special needs, ESL groups and are available in French.

Perfect for Biology 11! Students will be whisked up the mountain and receive an interactive workshop focused on an overview of the flora and fauna found on Grouse Mountain and the characteristics that define their respective phyla. The day will also include an outdoor GPS activity and a visit to our Grizzly Bear habitat.

Discover the traditional way of life for coastal First Nations people. Your class will enjoy a full day of legends, songs, and dances in the hiwus Feasthouse, an authentic Pacific Northwest longhouse. The visit begins with a guided hike or snowshoe tour through a sub-alpine forest. At the Feasthouse, students participate in dances and craftwork while learning the cultural importance of local plants and animals. For a truly unique and authentic experience a sample of native cuisine will be served.

Grouse Mountain Snow School Ski and Snowboard lesson programs are led by Certified Instructors who are trained to provide a fully supervised, safe and encouraging lesson for your students. Participants will develop their ski/snowboard skills in a fun and playful mountaintop winter wonderland!

Grouse Mountain, in conjunction with Jim Wiese, is pleased to offer this program that combines snow activities with specially designed science curriculum activities. Enhance your snow experience with an exploration of the science of snow, skiing, snowboarding, ice skating or snowshoeing. Elementary Science of Snow – New This Year! This program compliments Grouse Mountain’s 1-Day or 4-Day ski or snowboard sessions. Curriculum activities match the science IRPs for Grades 4 – 7. Fun and easy to learn for all ages! Join our experienced guides and wander through the snowy trails exploring the sub-alpine forest of the Coastal Mountain Range. Grouse Mountain has over 10 kilometres of marked and patrolled trails in the Munday Alpine Snow Park. Students will learn outdoor safety and survival skills and avalanche awareness.

Visit Vancouver's only outdoor mountaintop ice-skating rink! Just a few steps from the warmth of the Peak Chalet, the 8,000 square foot rink is open daily throughout the winter and is included with your Skyride Admission. Skate rentals are $5 for students.
