Our Field Trips
-
IN 2010, the International Year of Biodiversity, we will provide your students with a narrated, 2 1/2-hour (150-minutes) educational guided tour of the Conservation Centre. Mountain View operates Canadian Wildlife Conservation programs that save rare and endangered species from extinction, by breeding and reintroducing their offspring back into the wilds of BC. Special Note: We will be saying farewell to our exotic species that we have been raising for the past 25 years. Those world renowned "Breeding and Recovery" programs include the critically endangered Mhorr Gazelle, Addax Antelope and Scimitar Horned Oryx. They will be leaving Mountain View this year. so your 2010 field trip will be the last opportunity for your students to see these unique animals. From 2010 on, we will focus on saving local wildlife species in BC that are facing extinction, including Northern Spotted Owls, Oregon Spotted Frogs and Vancouver Island Marmots. Our Narrated/Guided tours include up to date information about conservation of the environment, habitat conservation, healthy ecosystems, in BC and Canada.

VIP Tours are offered to Conservationists, Principals, Teachers, and Field Trip coordinators. These are special one-of-a-kind behind the scenes suitable for a group of 10 or more, and usually allow the visitors to spend half a day with one or more of our keepers giving them an "up close and personal" visit to Mountain View Conservation.

September-October 2010 or anytime, by arrangement, for BC Teacher Groups. These are tours for teachers on professional days set aside by BC Schools so that teachers can preview the Mountain View Wildlife Conservatory and evaluate our guided educational tour programs for students K-12.
