Our Field Trips

1 to 5 day programs of 2 hour to all day ski and snowboard lessons. Lift tickets and rentals good from 10am to 10pm

How would you prepare, recognize and confront the unexpected? On a winter excursion, we will focus on shelter building and if conditions permit, snow caves!

Based in 'Snowtown', our indoor children's centre, this program is designed to introduce children to the fun of a winter environment. An exploration on snowshoes is followed by indoor craft, winter stories, and a light snack.

Enjoy a scenic snowshoe trek and get your winter workout! Great for a group of active friends/co-workers or a PE class.

An introduction to winter cross-country travel. Increase your compass and bearing skills as you explore a backcountry area.

Our focus is on learning through play! Fun games that teach lessons for winter adaptation and the interdependence of our surroundings.

Discover the winter world of animal tracks, bird life, special trees, and snowflakes! How are they prepared for winter? How can we be safe in the snow?

Discover the world of the shore crab. Participate in locating crab homes and discuss what crabs need to survive and how they are adapted for the intertidal zone. Offered at Porteau Cove. This is a DFO supported program.

Explore the difference between a valley and sub-alpine habitat, through fun, hands-on activities! Discover how plants and animals adapt to survive in this area. Offered at Mount Seymour

Props and games focus on black bear habitat and characteristics. Children also learn about appropriate behaviour in bear country. Offered at Mount Seymour, Porteau Cove, and Alice Lake Parks.
