Our Field Trips

  • Warships are not cruise ships. This program offers a glimpse of what life was like in warships in the great age of sail, through the First and Second World Wars, and into modern times. Please note: This is a museum-based tour. It does not include a tour of a Canadian naval vessel of any description.
  • This program provides an overview of the use of aircraft in naval operations, past and present, and the development of the Canadian Naval Air Arm. Please note: This is a museum-based tour. It does NOT include a tour of aircraft or Canadian naval vessels.
  • World War II afftected Canadian society profoundly, especially for women. This tour examines the issues faced by young women who joined the Women's Royal Canadian Naval Service (WRCNS) to serve their country during World War II, and events leading to their inclusion as officers and enlisted personnel in the modern Navy. Please note: This is a museum-based tour. It does NOT include a tour of a Canadian naval vessel of any description.
  • The longest-running battle of World War II, spanning almost the entire length of the war, the Battle of the Atlantic was the often desperate struggle by the Allies to protect merchant ships against the determined efforts of the German U-boats to sink them. Please note: This is a museum-based tour. It does NOT include a tour of a Canadian naval vessel of any description.
  • This tour traces the development of the Canadian Navy, from its modest beginning in 1910,through the World Wars, and its emergence as a modern, professional fighting force. Please note: this is a museum-based tour. It does NOT include a tour of a Canadian naval vessel of any description.
