Phone or email our office for an information document that will lay out exactly what is offered, what dates are available and what you can do to make this a fun, safe and knowledgable experience for your students, based around the physical activity of cycling. We begin each ride with a riding workshop that teaches proper riding, how to signal and how to approach intersections. After that we ride the trails around the Fraser River and at various stops our guides will provide age specific information on First Nation History, local history, the salmon in the Fraser River and what students can do to make a difference as river stewards. Students learn that they may not be able to change the world but that they can change their world.
These interpretative rides are on high end bikes on New West's bike trails. These range from one and a half hours (grade 4) to two hours (middle and high schools) not including time for lunch. We provide sterlized helmets and even raingear if needed. Costs begin at $10 each for students, teachers and parents ride free, and that covers everything including bikes. Parents can also bring siblings still at home using our half bikes and tailers. These needs need to be arranged before your field trip.
School Districts can negoitate block booking for every better pricing. |
