Our Field Trips

  • Visit Historic Yale- Boomtown on the Fraser! Bring your students to the Yale Historic Site for a field trip that will be fun filled, memorable and most importantly, educational as well. Step back in time with a visit to our costume house and then visit our ‘Living History’ tent city, where your students can ‘strike it rich’ while learning to pan, get their ‘grubstake’ supplies at the general store and hang out playing cards in the saloon. Upon entering the Chinese boarding house and bath house, they can learn what life was like within the sizable Chinese community during the 1858 Gold Rush and the building of the CP Railway. On site as well, St. John the Divine Church, built in 1863 and historic ‘Creighton House’ Museum built in the 1870’s. A walking tour of the historic town of Yale will point out all the places that used to be busy and bustling. Lantern tours of the Pioneer Cemetery can also be arranged.. The Yale Historic Site is less than 20 minutes from Hope and has a grassy picnic area, lots of tables and ample washrooms.
