Program Description

Plants grow from seeds that develop from flowers pollinated by bees. Except when they are pollinated by wind. Or grow from runners. Or tubers. Or bulbs. Or more! Discover some of the many, many ways plants reproduce sexually and asexually on our farm.

    VSB Classes: $150 for up to 25 youth; $6 for each additional youth. Classes from Van Tech and David Thompson family schools can receive a 50% subsidy from the VSB Office of Sustainability!
    Non-VSB classes and groups: $200 for up to 25 youth; $8 for each additional youth
    Multiple program discount! Sign your class up for 2 or more field trips in a school year and receive a 10% discount on the second and subsequent programs!
    We strive to make our programs accessible to all groups. If cost is a barrier, please let us know on your request form.

    Additional Notes

    Situated at Vancouver Technical and David Thompson secondary schools, our schoolyard farms are a short walk from many elementary schools and community centers.  All field trips are 2 hours long and include a farm work experience, as well as a tasting of salad or other farm foods.
