Program Description

Swordplay has a lot to do with physics and mathematics. It relies upon a knowledge of force, angles, geometry and much more.

By exploring concepts such as leverage, trigonometry and geometry through interactive tools such as swords, siege weapons and armour, kids can get excited about science in a way they never have before.

Big Ideas
  • Analyzing and interpreting experiments in data probability develops an understanding of chance.
  • Similar shapes have proportional relationships that can be described, measured, and compared.
  • Energy can be transformed.
  • Matter has mass, takes up space, and can change phase.
  • Machines are devices that transfer force and energy.
  • Newton’s three laws of motion describe the relationship between force and motion.
  • The behaviour of matter can be explained by the kinetic molecular theory and atomic theory.
