Overnight trips are currently suspended during covid-19, however Sasamat is open for single-day trips for up to 40 students! Programs will remain 100% outdoors and rigouros health and safety procedures have been put in place.

Choose from a variety of activities, lead by our excellent staff: canoeing, archery, kayaking, bouldering, swimming, hiking, wood chopping, outdoor cooking, arts and crafts, wide games, campfire programs, team building, environmental studies and much more. Enjoy our private sand beach with expansive docks and change rooms. Our main fire pit overlooks the lake and offers the perfect way to end every day with a fun and exciting campfire program. Booking includes bagged lunches for all students and guests. Bookings recommended well in advance for spring/fall season. Interpretive programs: Join Manning Park Resort’s Naturalists and guest speakers for entertaining and educational programs at the Lightning Lake Amphitheatre, the Alpine Meadows, and at various locations throughout the park. Interpretive programs are available by request for groups.

Boating:  Enjoy and explore the waters of on Lightning Lake with our boat rentals. Choose your adventure in a two-seater canoe, five-person Mackenzie canoe, rowboat, kayak or a stand-up paddleboard.

We have hourly and day rates available at the Boathouse (located at the Lightning Lake Day Use Area), as well as group rates for boat rentals of 6 boats or more.

Nordic: At Manning Park Resort, Nordic skiers can explore over 60 km of classic and skate ski groomed trails, as well as 160 km of backcountry trails. This is cross-country skiing at its finest—in forests and valleys, with a scenic mountain backdrop. Equipment rentals and lessons are available. The Nordic Centre also offers guided cross-country skiing and snowshoeing tours. 


Snowshoeing at Manning Park Resort is a fun and adventurous way to get into the park. With access to over 300km of trails for individuals of all abilities, individuals new to snowshoeing can follow marked trails through the surrounding forest.  Equipment rentals are available.

Guided excursions: We offer both day and evening excursions with our friendly and knowledgeable guides. Prices are based on group numbers, and packages are available with or without rental equipment.

Ice Skating: Ice skating at Manning Park Resort is available to all our guests when our outdoor rink is open. We also have everything you need to rent for a day of skating or a rousing game of hockey, including skates, hockey sticks, helmets and soft pucks. To protect guest safety, hard pucks are not permitted on the rink.  See our friendly staff at the Nordic Centre for all equipment rentals. Please note that access to the outdoor rink is weather dependent. The ice rink can be reserved exclusively by request.

Alpine: Manning Park Resort has some of the best snow conditions in B.C. We are located at a charmed intersection between the temperate coastal and dry desert interior regions, which means our powder is top notch! The Ski Hill, open from December to April, is located 10 km east of Manning Park Resort and offers excellent ski and snowboard terrain for beginners to advanced. Equipment rentals and lessons are available.

Along with some of North America’s most exhilarating rapids, this river journey will take your group through approximately 20 kilometers of British Columbia’s most inspiring wilderness in the stunning Tantalus Mountain Range less than an hour away from the city.
This is a full-day event suitable for all experience levels. Check-in time in Squamish is 8:30am for a 9am start, and return time to the rafting base at 2:30pm.

Come up to Squamish for a great day of fun adventures. Students will enjoy the morning working together in teams on challenges seen on the popular TV series. Then, after a delicious lunch, it’s time for a scenic river experience on our kid-friendly Cheakamus Splash river trip.
Have a really large group? In the morning while one half are doing Survivor, the other half will hop on the river. Then they’ll swap!

This is a full-day event. Check-in time in Squamish is 9:30am for a 10am Survivor start time, lunch is at 12pm, and the Cheakamus river trip begins at 1pm. Finish and departure time from Squamish will be approximately 4:30pm.

Program Description & Details

Work cooperatively with professional animators to storyboard a plot; create and animate characters; and add dialogue and sound effects. You'll complete a one-to-two minute film by the end of the day. Story choices include Vancouver Fire, 1907 Anti-Asian Riots and Japanese-Canadian Internment. Presented in partnership by Reel 2 Real with the Museum of Vancouver.
