Cancellations made less than seven days before the date of your program will incur a cancellation fee.

Deposit Comment:

For SD36 public schools - an invoice will be sent to your school in the same month as your program. Payment is due upon receipt of the invoice. For all other districts and private schools, payment is required at time of booking.

Take your class outdoors to experience your school ground or local park with the help of our Teacher Activity Kits. Each kit is FREE to borrow and are available for a two-week loan.

Forest Lab: Soil & Decomposition (K-Gr 3)

Dig deeper into the science of soil and decomposition with our 2-hour, mostly indoor Forest Lab program. As scientists-for-the-day students will investigate soil and the FBI (Fungi, Bacteria, and Invertebrates) vital for decomposition. We will wrap-up their program with an outdoor activity, or indoor story (by request).

Forest Lab: Photosynthesis (Gr 4-7)

Dig deeper into photosynthesis with our 2-hour, fully indoor Forest Lab program. Students will be scientists-for-a-day and will investigate leaf pigments and stomata of native deciduous and evergreen shrubs. Through a chromatography experiment and viewing leaf stomata with microscopes they will determine if our hypotheses are scientifically supported.

Animal Adaptations (Gr 4-8)

Have you ever wondered what it takes for an animal to survive in its habitat? Join a Surrey Nature Centre program leader to explore how animals adapt to their habitats with a special focus on one of Surrey’s top predators, the coyote.

Treemendous (K-Gr 5)

Through games and exploration your students will learn the different parts of a tree (and their functions), who the 'forest friends' are that help our trees thrive, and what all trees need to survive.
