Our Trips

Wednesday: October 2, 2019 – June 17, 2020

Imagine, balance, construct, and combine materials to engineer an exciting mini city. Students learn about physics and connecting techniques they can use to support their structures. Elements of colour, pattern, and recycled materials encourage students to get creative. Focus can be adjusted- perhaps a realistic, futuristic, space-age or environmentally sensitive city could fit your curriculum.

Tuesdays | October 1, 2019 – June 15, 2020

Thursdays | October 3, 2019 - June 17, 2020

Discover the Gallery’s Permanent Art Collections, focusing on handmade prints by First Nation artists. Using real artworks from the collection, students will make comparisons of the different techniques and elements of meaning in the works. The class will consider the significance of the ecosystem and environment which are represented in the selected First Nations works. Students will create their own art piece inspired by their connection with the environment and explore how different mediums work together.

Fridays | October 4, 2019 - June 19, 2020

Join us to uncover the complexity of the BC coastline. Students are immersed into the ideas of interconnection, ecosystems, water cycles and shoreline wildlife, inspired by Coastal Indigenous artworks. Using printmaking, stamping, drawing, and collage, students develop individual mixed-media works that contribute to a group classroom ecosystem project.
