Camp Jubilee’s multi-day Outdoor School programs offer an inspiring place to learn, discover and play! By combining excellent outdoor programming with great food and comfortable lodging, we can create an outdoor experience that leaves students with amazing memories and a new interest in exploring nature. With BC’s education curriculum of Big Ideas and Core Competencies, Camp Jubilee’s Outdoor School programs incorporate the importance of physical activity and learning by doing. Deepen learning about Indigenous cultures and contemporary artmaking practices through an inquiry into artworks by Indigenous artists. From cedar bark weavings, vinyl murals, and seal skin drums to paintings, prints, performance, and multimedia installations, students will discuss artworks from the Gallery’s permanent collection as well as Surrey’s Public Art collection. 

Students learn about ceramic practices from around the world as the artist educator demonstrates coiling, pinching, incising, and sculpting. Students will create and embellish a clay vessel using these techniques.

After an interactive tour of the current exhibitions, students experiment with ideas, themes, and techniques they examined. A new workshop is designed in relation to each exhibition.

From towering forests to sandy seashores, regional parks are filled with fun, hands-on learning environments. Park interpreters lead field trips outdoors for about 2 hours. Students are engaged in discovery, activities and games related to the topic.

Students learn about the unique life cycle of Pacific Salmon. Discover what salmon need to survive and what makes healthy salmon habitat. Students also experience the obstacles salmon face during their migration through interactive games. LEPS workshops take place in YOUR CLASSROOM in LANGLEY, ABBOTSFORD or SURREY school districts.
