We bring the experience to you! On The Road workshops are led by professional artists who provide engaging, hands-on activities and educational experiences for students in y our Elementary and Middle School classrooms. Evergreen Cultural Centre instructors will provide all the materials needed to create a vibrant learning experience for your students in their own school. Teachers may book one or two sessions per day for workshops with multiple sessions. Each session is 2 hours in length.

Secondary level students will critically analyze both archival and contemporary newspaper articles relating to aboriginal rights and land title in British Columbia. This program presents the story of native activism in the mid-twentieth century through the lens of one individual (Maisie Hurley, 1887-1962), founder of the Native Voice newspaper.

This program has been organized with the Squamish Nation Education Department and made possible in part through a grant from the Museums Assistance Program, Department of Canadian Heritage.

Fridays | October 4, 2019 - June 19, 2020 

Join us to uncover the complexity of the BC coastline. Students are immersed into the ideas of interconnection, ecosystems, water cycles and shoreline wildlife, inspired by Coastal Indigenous artworks. Using printmaking, stamping, drawing, and collage, students develop individual mixed-media works that contribute to a group classroom ecosystem project.

Interested in learning about the history of Cinema and animation? Join Cinemagic at Mackin House to learn about and use early film devices with artist Romain Lliedo. (Minimum 15, Maximum 24 students)
