Students discover the ecology of our local streams through hands-on investigation of a salmon habitat. LEPS staff meet your class in the field to conduct water quality testing, fish identification, and aquatic bug sampling.

What is diversity and why is it important? Learn the four components of habitat – food, water, shelter and space. Students will explore concepts related to food chains and will discover some of the ways that humans impact ecosystems. Optional bird house building. Cost: $7.00 each.

A Surrey Nature Centre Guide will introduce your students to the basics of wilderness survival. In groups, they will go through challenges to unlock supplies to build their own wilderness shelters. Challenges include edible plant challenge, survival trivia, and wayfinding with a compass. The program ends with the groups presenting their survival shelters.

Playland presents Amusement Park Science & Physics, an enrichment experience designed to enhance your student’s knowledge and understanding of how the science they learn in the classroom applies to the world around them. Since 1988, over 100,000 students from BC have experienced Science of Fun and Science & Physics Days at Playland. We offer some of the best teaching terrain around for grade 2-12 students. Whether you are planning a full day field trip or an evening ski club, there's something for everyone! Our online registration system means less work for organizers. Our safe, modern equipment and efficient rental system means students will be geared up and out on the slopes in no time! By collecting rental information in advance, we pre-set equipment and have it ready for when you arrive.

Combine with Tubing or Tobogganing for a full day! New* snowshoe location for K-3's. Meet us at Enquist Lodge and enjoy quicker access to easier trails.
