From towering forests to sandy seashores, regional parks are filled with fun, hands-on learning environments. Park interpreters lead field trips outdoors for about 2 hours. Students are engaged in discovery, activities and games related to the topic.

The new Virtual Classroom program provides students with an opportunity to learn about the Legislative Assembly in a fun and engaging way from the comfort of their home computers or classroom. ​The interactive presentation is hosted by one of our Legislative Guides and includes lots of fun stories and many interesting photos of the Parliament Buildings from the time of its construction up to today. Students will learn about the key people who work in the Legislative Assembly, how a bill becomes a law, and the important symbols of the Legislative Assembly.​

What is diversity and why is it important? Learn the four components of habitat – food, water, shelter and space. Students will explore concepts related to food chains and will discover some of the ways that humans impact ecosystems. Optional bird house building. Cost: $7.00 each.

Discover the importance of water as a finite resource and map out where your drinking water comes from. Students discuss different water sources and use a 3D model to discover the connection between people and water pollution while learning how to minimize their impact. JOURNEYS Education Kits offer object-based and multimedia learning tools for classroom use to learn about Japanese Canadian internment. The kit includes historical artefact replicas, primary and secondary source documents, and sample lesson plans suitable for students from grades 5 to 12.
