Program Description & Details

We offer some of the best teaching terrain around for grade 2-12 students. Whether you are planning a full day field trip or an evening ski club, there's something for everyone! Our online registration system means less work for organizers. Our safe, modern equipment and efficient rental system means students will be geared up and out on the slopes in no time! By collecting rental information in advance, we pre-set equipment and have it ready for when you arrive.

3 hours. Winter safety awareness and skills are practiced through a fun survival scenario on snowshoes. Be prepared to spend plenty of time digging and playing in the snow! Combine with Tubing or Tobogganing for a full day!

Discover the many wonders of the only mammal that can fly. Find out how bats live, hunt, echolocate and adapt to their habitat using their unique bodies. Because bats are nocturnal, we will not see any live bats during the program. Instead, we will explore their habitat with unique props and activities. Bats really are beautiful; learn why in this interactive forest adventure.

Program Description & Details

Visit the Lumberman’s Arch beach at low tide and explore the incredibly diverse and abundant life in the intertidal zone. Low tide offers us a glimpse at fascinating animals and plants that have adapted to life in and out of the sea. Hunt for crabs, sort seaweeds, and find out what else lives or eats on the seashore, while students discover important human connections to the oceans. Beach Explorers is a tide-dependent program and is available in spring between April and June. Please contact us for available dates.

British Columbia is rich in plants, animals, and habitats! This program explores the concept of biodiversity with a fun indoor introduction, followed by a hands-on outdoor field study. By exploring microhabitats in the park, students gain an appreciation for the biodiversity of the rainforest and discover how different animals and plants survive in this wet and diverse environment.

Understand the role of salmon as a Cultural Keystone Species for Indigenous Peoples on the West Coast of Canada in Salmon People! 

Salmon is, and always has been, central to the lives, economies, and cultures of many Indigenous Peoples of the West Coast. Understanding this significance is central to understanding the worldviews of the Peoples who have lived here since time immemorial.  

Engage with replica fishing tools, explore fish species, and learn about past and present Indigenous fishing methods through storytelling and a variety of Indigenous-created resources.

Examine the simple machines found in our one-of-a-kind restored canning line and Herring Reduction Plant in Machines at Work! 

Machines make the assembly line process faster, safer, and less labour intensive. Six simple machines can be found by examining the machines along the Canning Line and the Herring Reduction Plant. 

Watch as the machines come to life on our Canning Line, then put your learning to work by exploring the components and operation of the technology in our Herring Reduction Plant.
