Richmond Nature Park

Discover the subtle signs of autumn and spring in the Richmond Nature Park with a naturalist-led guided walk that covers touch, scent, sound and sight, and a visit to the Nature House. This is an out trip for preschool and elementary classes. Registration is open from August to June.

(Grades 2-5) Examine different types of pollutants an where they come from, and evaluate how individual actions contribute to the health of the river.

This program is divided into:

Introduction to the Centre, Program and Rules (5 minutes)
PowerPoint Presentation (10 minutes)
Activities (25 minutes each)
- Swim Like Fin board game.
- Examine how plastic pollution affects the birds around the Fraser River Basin.

Outreach: Portable Planetarium

Immerse your students in the Universe with our digital portable planetarium. With our portable planetarium you will be able to stand on the Moon and look back at Earth, experience a Martian sunrise, and even see what the Milky Way galaxy looks like.

The portable planetarium is a large dome that can be easily set up in any 7 x 7 x 4 metre (23 x 23 x 12.5 feet) space. The program consists of:

Elementary School – up to 6 presentations / day (20-30 minute presentations).
Secondary School – up to 4 presentations / day (40 minute presentations).
Also available for community groups.
