This tour includes:

• Learning how homes were built more than 100 years ago by European Settlers and Local Indigenous people. Artifact investigation;

• Visiting the Natural History Wall and learning about local animals;

• Includes a guided outdoor walking tour exploring how animals have returned to the mine sites now that the industry is inactive.

This tour includes:

• a visit to our local Chinese history display and an object identification activity;

• students explore the kit "The Writing on the Wall" that details the racism and prejudice the Chinese immigrants faced at the turn of the century;

• This tour includes a workshop on Chinese Calligraphy.

Holocaust Survivor Speakers share their experiences of persecution, discrimination and loss with teachers and students from their homes on Zoom.

Engaging with a Holocaust Survivor Speaker prompts your students to think in depth about social justice and human rights. Your students gain a better understanding of what it means to take on individual and social responsibilities, as many survivors address taking action toward a more just world.

The program’s duration is 60 minutes (40-minute survivor presentation followed by a 20-minute question period). A small number of speakers are able to address groups in French.

An interactive and enthusiastic exploration of the farm for preschool and elementary classes! Chickens, goats, horses, orchard... there is so much to see and do at the farm. At the end students can pick their pumpkin from the Apple Orchard.

Hop, dive, and flutter your way to this on-line workshop about birds! In this program, you’ll learn about the evolution and adaptations of birds. We’ll discover the feeding and nesting habits of local birds and the remarkable ways that different birds find niches in the temperate rainforest ecosystem.

Get excited about the tiny creatures that live in Lynn Canyon Park. This on-line program features a short introduction to invertebrate biology and a live video session with some local animals such as slugs, worms, and woodbugs. We’ll also take a close-up look at a few of our tiny friends under a powerful magnifier.

Learn the keys to survival in the Arctic! Look for clues and examine skulls, furs and photos to discover how Arctic animals adapt to life in Canada’s most extreme ecosystem.
