We offer some of the best teaching terrain around for grade 2-12 students. Whether you are planning a full day field trip or an evening ski club, there's something for everyone! Our online registration system means less work for organizers. Our safe, modern equipment and efficient rental system means students will be geared up and out on the slopes in no time! By collecting rental information in advance, we pre-set equipment and have it ready for when you arrive.

Did you know that soil is actually extremely rare? In this truly groundbreaking field trip, students will come away understanding the important differences between soil and dirt. They’ll dig deep into the properties and composition of soil, the amendments we add, and the benefits of supporting a healthy underground ecosystem where just one tablespoon could contain 50 billion microbes! We’ll find some of the larger invertebrates commonly found at Loutet Farm and investigate the cycle of compost on-site, where we build our own soil. Your day exploring one of the most species-rich habitats on earth will leave you with a newfound appreciation for the ground beneath your feet and inspiration for building and protecting it.

It is said that ‘a picture is worth a thousand words’ but how do we actually learn from photographs?

Using images from the Archives of North Vancouver's collection, students will explore Squamish themes and stories. The photographs feature local landscapes and individuals. Students will learn to analyze each image and to record relevant observations while learning aspects of Squamish culture. Topics include family life, education and art. The Kit includes lesson plans which encourage team work, group discussion and critical thinking.

Explore c̓əsnaʔəm: the city before the city through a scavenger hunt activity based on the Big Six Historical Thinking Concepts. Learn about the impacts of colonization on the Musqueam First Nation and their resilience in the face of assimilation. Through Object-Based Learning, examine the impacts of colonial practices and policies on various aspects of First Nations traditions, languages, and cultures, and examples of reconciliation today.
